Peek Into the Training of “Terror Fighting Dogs”

National Geographic has done a very interesting story on “bomb sniffing dogs” that are trained to find explosives. Take a look at the training techniques used on these dogs. They do their job exceptionally well.
The personalities of the different breeds they are using to detect the bombs was also worth noting. The German Shephard, for example, “will never take it’s own initiative”, but the hybrid breed used here will search without any prompting continuously because it’s “independent” and has its “own ideas of where to go”.
